Starting in northern Portugal, on the mouth of the Rio Douro lies Porto: the city that gave its name to the country and its most famous export, Port. Enjoy a visit to Gaia’s famous port wine cellars for a tasting & cruise along the river of gold, the Rio Douro. Trace the various civilizations that have crossed Portugal in the castles, palaces, and narrow cobbled streets common around the country in cities like Guimarães, Viseu & Coimbra.

Flourished as a seaport in medieval times, Aveiro is a town lying on the edge of a vast lagoon now known as the ‘Venice of Portugal’. To complete the journey, enjoy four nights in Lisbon, which will captivate the historian and artist alike.
